This book is the first to be published by George Edward Lodge Trust. ‘Compiled to educate the non-falconer, but with the falconer in mind...’ The book is dedicated to the late Thomas J. Mann, of Hyde Hall, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. The Articles and extracts are chosen to illustrate the life and work of the artist George Lodge, and especially his association with falconry. It includes, in full, E.B. Michell’s article, ‘MODERN FALCONRY’, from The English Illustrated Magazine, 1885-1886, which George Lodge illustrated. Also a number of pieces by and about Lodge, some of them previously unpublished.

	'Black Jess' limited edition print of 750 worldwide. The iconic painting of 'Black Jess' by George Lodge appeared as the frontispiece to both Volume 5 of Bannerman and Lodge's The Birds of the British Isles and Lodge's own book Memoirs of an Artist Naturalist, and is considered to be one of the finest examples of his work. 'Black Jess' an intermewed eyass peregrine falcon was trained and flown by the late Kim Muir, 10th Royal Hussars. Many of the prints were sold in the late 1980s and the balance that remain are now even more limited. This edition has been printed to the highest standard by Westerham Press on Mohawk Superfine acid-free paper of 149gsm with lightfast inks by four colour lithography. The image size is 24" x 19" with a border. £85.00 + £4.00 P&P
